“The difference in our search results is substantial. Content that once defined the first page has been displaced, and the results now better reflect the executive’s actual leadership, experience and work.”
Project Summary
A senior executive at a nationally recognized pediatric healthcare organization faced a significant online reputation challenge. Despite a long record of healthcare leadership, community investment and organizational growth, Google search results for the executive’s name had become heavily influenced by negative media coverage centered on executive compensation. The coverage ranked prominently on Page 1 and was reinforced by a related broadcast video, compensation-focused People Also Ask results and related searches. With partners, donors, prospective employees, journalists and other stakeholders frequently researching the executive online, the search results created a first impression that did not accurately represent the broader professional record. TheBestReputation developed a comprehensive executive reputation management campaign focused on suppressing the negative coverage, strengthening authoritative search results and creating a more resilient long-term digital presence.
The Results
The campaign significantly changed what appeared when users searched for the executive.
Negative media coverage that previously occupied prominent positions on Page 1 was displaced from the visible first page of Google. A related broadcast video was also pushed out of the top search results, while owned, earned and credentialed assets gained substantially greater visibility.
The campaign generated 10 editorial placements with a combined potential audience exceeding 47 million and approximately 141,000 estimated lifetime article views. Publications secured throughout the campaign carried an average domain authority of approximately 65, including several major national and industry-specific outlets.
A dedicated executive website was also developed and optimized as a controlled source for the executive’s professional background, leadership history and media coverage. The website subsequently reached Page 1 of Google and became an important anchor within the executive’s search results.
By the later stages of the campaign, Page 1 was primarily populated by authoritative organizational profiles, professional profiles, the executive’s owned website, established institutional sources and favorable editorial coverage rather than the negative narrative that had previously dominated the results.
The Strategy
TheBestReputation executed the campaign across four primary areas.
Authoritative Media Placement
The team developed and placed editorial content with established national, business, technology and healthcare publications. Rather than relying on promotional material, each article focused on substantive topics connected to the executive’s expertise and leadership.
Coverage addressed subjects including healthcare innovation, artificial intelligence in pediatric medicine, workforce resilience, behavioral health, community investment, health equity and healthcare leadership. This created a diverse collection of authoritative content capable of ranking for branded searches.
Thought Leadership Development
A sustained thought leadership strategy helped associate the executive with areas of genuine professional expertise rather than allowing a single controversy to define the search narrative.
Content was deliberately varied across healthcare topics, creating stronger topical relevance and providing search engines with multiple credible sources connected to the executive’s professional work.
Owned Digital Asset Development
TheBestReputation created and optimized a dedicated executive website designed to function as a long-term reputation asset.
The site provided a controlled destination for professional history, biographical information, leadership accomplishments and earned media coverage. As its authority increased, the website moved onto Page 1 and became another property capable of competing with unwanted search results.
Continuous Search Result Management
The campaign was monitored throughout the engagement rather than treated as a one-time content push.
TheBestReputation tracked ranking movement, optimized newly published assets and supported priority content with SEO and backlink development. New placements were strategically introduced as search results evolved, allowing favorable and authoritative assets to gradually move upward while unwanted results moved downward.
Search Results: Before & After
Before
Page 1 contained prominent negative media coverage focused on executive compensation. A broadcast video further reinforced the story, while People Also Ask results and related searches continued surfacing compensation-related questions.
The executive had relatively few controlled or authoritative digital assets capable of competing with those results.
After
The negative article and associated video were displaced from the visible first page.
Page 1 became anchored by the executive’s official organizational profile, professional profiles, independently credentialed sources, the newly developed executive website and favorable editorial coverage.
The result was a substantially more balanced search presence that better reflected the executive’s broader leadership record and professional expertise.
Key Outcomes
10 Editorial Placements
47M+ Combined Audience Reach
141K+ Estimated Lifetime Article Views
65+ Average Domain Authority
Page 1 Owned Executive Website
Negative Coverage Displaced From Page 1
Project Feedback
The campaign demonstrated the importance of combining media relations, SEO, owned-asset development and ongoing search-result monitoring rather than relying on any one reputation management tactic. Editorial placements created new authoritative ranking opportunities. The executive website established a permanent controlled asset. Existing professional and institutional profiles were strengthened, while ongoing SEO work helped favorable content compete directly with entrenched negative coverage. Over several reporting periods, these efforts compounded. Negative results gradually moved lower while authoritative assets took their place, ultimately producing the strongest Page 1 search results recorded during the campaign.
